Hey guys! I’m popping up to the surface to write a blog post! As a fan of a soft corduroy, I was pretty excited about the release of Small World by Cloud9 organics. And the only thing better than adorable Organic corduroy, is free adorable organic corduroy. My friend Rae (aka Made By Rae) actually designed the Small World collection, and I’m pretty sure I was the first one to rapid fire a yes when the call went out for people who wanted to blog about it.
The whole collection is cute and has a vintage flare about it, which must kinda be Rae’s thing. Which I love.
and go with this adorable hot air balloon print. I’ve got to applaud Rae for making several boy friendly prints to choose from. Actually, I’d say most of Small World is.
Hawthorne gives it his approval
I sewed him a pair of Art Museum Trousers (oliver and S), a pattern which I’m pretty familiar with at this point. But I skipped the welt pockets for the first time. It’s like he doesn’t even appreciate having welt pockets on his butt. Heck, he doesn’t even use his front pockets yet! Still, with darts and slant pockets, I think the trousers still have enough detail to make them special.
He found some guy flying a kite, and ID’d it as a spiderman kite way up there in the sky. He’s a 1.5 year old nerd savant.
He calls these “banoon pants” btw. Adorable.
That’s his “I’m gonna jump, so you better hold my hand” stance.
So, I managed to get a few shots of him here on this rock before he ran up a hill and sat in a mud puddle. I’ll tell you that mud washes right out of his banoon pants. That time, at least.
Off he runs, in search of mud puddles! The kid is obsessed with water. Any opportunity to splash…..
I get a major 70’s kid vibe from a pair of pants in this print/color combo. In a totally good way. I love it. He looks like he should be in a movie where the toddlers get to hang out in the family wagon while mom runs into Mickey D’s for dinner. But the fabric already has that soft, vintage feel and not the scratchy business that probably happened back then.
Cloud9, you guys are awesome. Rae, you too.
