Blog post writing gains viscosity with the addition of more kids. It oozes out slowly. I have so many things I want to write and post about, but never get to.
Meanwhile, I’ve had photos ready for this post about our first day of homeschool for a month.
We’re settling into a rhythm. It’s a wild and somewhat erratic rhythm, but we try.
And we have shirts!
I made Birch organic cotton tees with a hand drawn stencil for the kids. I probably need one too.
Their favorite things to do in school so far:
Calvin and Hobbes (yes, it’s a school subject) (everyone)
My weird language arts games (everyone)
Shakespeare (everyone) (violet loves Hamlet)
Poetry memorization (everyone)
Ok, so now we’re realizing that it’s pretty much everything…..haha.
Hawthorne mostly mills around and torments everyone when we’re learning, but he absorbs things too. He’s memorizing poetry with everyone and listening to Hamlet.
We’re settling into our own version of classical/charlotte mason style education. We add a certain flair….a certain insanity to it all. I’m sure Charlotte Mason didn’t envision poetry memorization being done with kids standing on their heads.
Hawthorne is in a major 3 year old stinker stage, but he’s still adorable. He just consented to potty training, and is horribly cute in his undies.
Pretty soon I plan to write up a post about the things we’re enjoying so far this year. Maybe in another month. Ha.
